When Science Studies Mediumship
Did you know science is trying to explain how mediums do what they do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is growing interest in studying parapsychological phenomena, and the findings so far are really interesting.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Windbridge Research Centre began working to scientifically verify mediums using methods highly regarded by the science community, and then work with those mediums to understand the process of death and the continuation of consciousness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One study undertaken in Brazil studied mediums using a SPECT brain scan both in their ‘normal’ state and when channelling, found that when Mediums were channelling their brain functions controlling reasoning, planning, language, movement and problem solving decreased significantly. Due to this, the mediums should have displayed significantly lower focus, self awareness and a general all round fuzziness and confusion.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What the Mediums did display though was that their language and sentences were MORE complex which should have required a spike in the brain functions they observed a drop in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what does this mean? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That when a true Medium is connecting with the other side, they aren’t analysing or reading their client, or remembering information they found or knew about their client previously. This supports the concept of continued consciousness after death, as the information being spoken or written is not from memory or active learning/analysis.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Authors Julio Fernando Peres, Alexander Moreira-Almeida, Leonardo Caixeta, Frederick Leao and Andrew Newberg were left perplexed to say the least, and this study as sparked further research in the field.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
